Howdy, I'm a 29-year-old guy from Australia and I've wanted to start learning Japanese for years and finally decided to start this year. I'm super early into learning but I've been watching anime since I was small so that has helped at least with basic phrases (not with the multiple alphabets though...).
My hobbies include novel writing, reading, video games, not nearly as much anime as you might think and trying to get fit at the gym! I'm also planning on going and see as much of Japan as possible in March of 2025, so any recommendations on hidden gems is also appreciated! Please send me a dm or comment if interested!
