Hello! My name is Louis. I am from Hong Kong but I lived in London for most of my life. As a result my English is completely fluent. Hi there! My name is Maggie, originally from Poland, but I've been living in the UK for 18 years now. I started learning Japanese around two years ago, but progress has been a bit slow, mostly because I don’t have enough opportunities to practice speaking.
I’m here to improve my conversation skills and to learn more about Japan. I have a wide range of interests, including music, books, martial arts (I practice Shaolin Kung Fu), food, and, of course, all aspects of Japanese culture.
My love for Japanese hardcore/punk music is actually what got me started with learning Japanese in the first place. By day, I work as an accountant, but I also run a small record label called Chopstick Records, where I release Japanese hardcore music in the UK. I also write a blog dedicated to the Japanese hardcore scene, where I publish interviews with musicians, album reviews, and anything related to the underground music scene in Japan. I’m passionate about promoting Japanese artists on this side of the world!
