I am age 69 and retired. I have been married for 40 years and have a grown up son. I worked in graphic design, marketing and finally became a teacher of design and computing. My wife and I have been taking holidays in France for nearly 30 years. I have been learning French self-taught since my my early 20s but through lack of practise I have not been able to break through to using the vocabulary I have. The words I choose to use are always simple options. Pronouncing French words is always an issue for English speakers so I need help with that. We have just come back from two-and-a-half months in France and during that time I was told my French was very good but that could just be because English are usually very bad at speaking French. I believe I now need regular practise with someone that can help me with the correct way to say things in French and not just make direct translations as I tend to do now. Having taught adults for over 15 years I can certainly help anyone with their English. My idea is to exchange emails with someone about simple things that we are doing and then have face-to-face conversations online to analyse them and teach each other the best way to say them in the native language.
