Hello, I'm Beth, sporty and outdoorsy travel enthusiast living near Glasgow. I'm a biological scientist by training but I'm looking to change direction. I've been learning French for the past year as I had a French boyfriend and was living partly in France. Unfortunately we broke up, but I don't want to waste the progress I made learning French and would like to continue. I just started doing a degree part-time in French and Spanish.

I’m a Polish native living in the UK for the past 18 years. While I have a good understanding of English, I still struggle with speaking and expressing myself confidently. As an introvert, this can be quite challenging for me.

I am a 75 year ol female, native English speaker who now lives in Scotland. (I have no accent!) I am now retired, but my varied employment history includes journalism and media studies lecturer, and teaching English as a foreign language.
I fell in love with Greece in when I first visited Nisos Symi by yacht in 2006, and between then and 2019, i spent the summer months cruising the Greek Islands, mostly in the Agean. Circumstances changed, and I no longer have that privilege, but I continue to try and learn the language of the country and people I grew to love.
I am interested in alternative health, gym, swim and try and stay as fit as possible, read and love learning new things. I can find no Greek speakers where I live, and without conversation I am never going to become fluent. Daily Duolingo Greek (7 year streak?) just doesn't do it for me!

I'm a retired teacher of English to Speakers of Other Languages at a Glasgow city centre college, living in Glasgow, mother of three and grandmother of two. I keep up my interest in languages by "meeting" some ex-students on Zoom once a week, going to a French class at Glasgow's Alliance Française and -attempting to ! -learn German from scratch.
I enjoy swimming , trips to the GFT [Glasgow Film Theatre] and drinking coffee in one of our many local cafés.
