1. B2 in Spanish
2. A2 in Mandarin Chinese
Languages inspire me because they open doors to people, cultures, and new ways of seeing the world. I truly connect with Frank Smith’s belief that “one language sets you in a corridor for life; two languages open every door along the way.” This philosophy guides my motivation to keep learning and growing through languages.

Hey there! My name’s Jess. I speak German at a B1 level and would love some practice, but I’ve just begun learning Polish and could really use some help! I can only speak a few Polish words so it may not be productive to strike up a conversation just yet, but ifI’d like to get acquainted with some native speakers to help me out as my skills improve. I’m already finding the grammar extremely difficult to wrap my head around.
I go to school for film & media studies with a minor in economics and I plan on applying to an MFA program in filmmaking once I’ve completed my bachelors.
I’m passionate about film and music. I play mandocello in a mandolin orchestra and also write music and play in a band (mandolin, banjo, vocals). I’m also an avid reader, though regrettably I haven’t had much time for reading outside of class lately.

I moved to Canada a year ago and I now have a Malayali boyfriend. He misses talking malayalam with me and that is why I am here. To learn Malayalam.
