Are you an engineer or a scientist with Russian soul?
Привет, I am an Irishman in my mid-late 50s. Married with two college-going kids, I am a business teacher who has spent time travelling the world and living in Asia and Latin America.

My interests include history, Irish folk culture and geopolitics but none of that need be a problem if you are not interested.

I am genuinely enthusiastic about learning Russian and making contact with Russian culture and society. I spent a few winter weeks (around Christmas and New Year) in Moscow, St Petersburg and Kiev during the twilight years (months!) of the Soviet era and was really enchanted by the many wonderful experiences I shared with the people I met and by the places I visited.

I have been learning Pусский язык on the internet by myself on and off for about two years but am still at a very basic level of conversation ability.

While my ideal partner would more likely be someone of similar age, I am particularly interested in conversing with someone in an engineering, technical or scientific profession. I don't expect you to help me with technical Russian (I hope instead to talk about birch forests in the snow and such things) but I am looking to engage with someone who wants to develop English-language skills for professional or academic purposes.
