Hi, I'm Wang, a 27-yr-old native Mandarin speaker from Zhejiang, currently living in Canada. I finished high school in China and college in Canada.
I'm into the internet, digital art, writing, anime, 3DCG, gaming, OCs, video editing, content creation, and music.
My English is pretty good on paper (IELTS 8), but real-time conversation is a different story. I've hit a plateau where thinking, formulating ideas, and speaking at the same time still takes a lot of effort. I also want to develop a more natural accent and intonation without consciously thinking about them so I can focus on my content instead.
I'm looking for a native English speaker to get lots of conversational mileage with. I'd prefer casual, immersive conversations over structured lessons. Conversations with corrections and suggestions, or just talking, text chat, working on other things and mindlessly talking over discord etc, or even we can play games together.
What I offer: I'm a native Mandarin speaker and can provide the same kind of immersion in Chinese. Ideally you're at a similar stage with Chinese as I am with English,intermediate but not yet second nature,needs mileage so on so on; but its not like I wish not to exchange with beginners, beginners are welcome too. It's just that I'm not a professional teacher, and it feels less fair for you if you provide high level English immersion and I only provide basic drills, but if you don't mind that, I'm happy to help through immersion in native Chinese, correction and suggestions with my best effort for whatever level you are.
